Canadian flutist Haley Rempel graduated from Yale University
in 2007 with a Master of Music degree, majoring in flute
performance, under the esteemed American flutist Ransom Wilson.
She also had the privilege of studying with the Montreal
Symphony Orchestra’s principal flutist Timothy Hutchins while
she was an undergraduate student at Montreal’s McGill
University.
Haley has been a freelance flutist in southern California,
Connecticut, Montreal and Winnipeg. She has also performed twice
in Carnegie Hall with the Yale Philharmonic. Lessons and
masterclasses have provided her with the chance to study with
Dr. Dieter Flury (Vienna), Jean-Claude Gérard (Stuttgart,
Germany), Maxence Larrieu, Jeanne Baxtresser, Tara-Helen
O’Connor (New York City), Susan Hoeppner and Leone Buyse.
Recently, Haley moved back to her hometown of Winnipeg. In 2009,
she completed a concert tour of Germany, France and Canada with
organist Peter Letkemann and also performed in a debut recital
with harpsichordist Eric Lussier. Teaching experience includes
positions at Platt College (San Diego), the Orange County High
School of the Arts (California) and as undergraduate flute
instructor at Yale University.
